Western Red Cedar House

Western Red Cedar resists decay and shrinkage, and seasons easily and quickly. Expect years of maintenance-free service. Our experience with mason bees suggests that they gravitate to cedar.  Painting is not necessary to preserve the wood, as cedar is naturally long-lasting.

This cedar house holds 105 empty “System” nesting tubes or a release box and 70 empty nesting “System” tubes.

Mounting screw included; some additional hardware may be needed, depending on installation site. Nesting tubes and bees sold separately.

Note: All mason bee houses should be placed on a south or southeast facing wall, low enough to catch the morning sun, but still near enough to the eaves to protect them from the rain and wind.
